Hello! I write you from Los Fresnos, TX. I’m FINALLY on my trip! My foot prevented me from going over the border with the rest of the mission teams but I love what David, the ministry President, said: “isn’t it cool how God maimed you enough that you couldn’t go over yet healed you enough that you could come down?” How can you argue with that kind of perspective?!
I love being here! I feel ‘at home.’ It’s very natural for me, just like it was 2 years ago when I went into Mexico. It’s been a wonderful reunion with our missionary family, the Davis’, and seeing Kirby, my dear friend from Canada who is a student at the missionary training school. Today I get to see Veronica, another friend from 2 years ago, and meet Eric (PushingForward83) – they’ll be at church. It’ll be great to see Vero and meet Eric in person.
I’m loving being here – I get to use my gifts to help ‘catapult’ the ministry. That is the word that keeps coming back to mind – catapult. They’ve got everything loaded and just need someone to help ‘pull the trigger’ to make it happen.
What struck me on the way down gave me goosebumps. In Romans 10:14 it says “How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?” And it hit me – what I get to do this week is 2 steps removed from this yet right on point.
I get to design brochures which speak of the Center for Pioneer Church Planting and To Every Tribe Ministries, as well as a newsletter shell for the ministry as well. I get to help draw people in who are being called by the Lord to reach the unreached. HOW COOL IS THAT?! It brings me to tears! “How can they preach unless they are sent?” Well – TETM sends short term mission trips each year and trains missionaries through CPCP to reach the unreached! And I get to design the brochures which draw people in. I GET TO HELP SEND!!!!!!!!!!!! I GET TO BE A PART OF THE GOSPEL!
Pray for us this week! I’ve been asked to also help with a PowerPoint presentation for Tommi (David’s wife) for a speaking engagement she has in a couple months.
What an incredible blessing to be able to use my gifts for the furtherance of the gospel. How blessed I am!
